What do you guys think about only betting OVERS?

theres someone posting in here who ONLY bets overs. obviously, it's the easier play, but do you think you can only play OVERS and be successful? just an innocent question...no need for any children to get their panties in a bunch (you know who you are

in all totals - there is an advantage in betting the other way - UNDER. this is because most casual bettors simply play "favorite and over" all the time. how many of the "joe q. public" walk into a vegas sportsbook, go to the counter and simply bet Notre Dame every week - regardless of what the number is - and how many points they are laying? a LOT. they usually say something like, "are you kidding me, ND 'only' favored by 28 over Navy - they'll kill them - i'll lay the 28." so these people do that failing to realize this might be a "sandwich" game for the irish who only win by 21. the books know it so they inflate the total maybe a point and the fave's number about 1/2 a point, too (or maybe $.10 when this comes into play). over the long run it makes a difference.

i'm not saying only betting unders is the way to go - but if i had to bet only overs or unders - i'll take UNDER.

It's all about value sweetie. If you picked your spots you could be successful betting either way over or under. I tend to see more value in betting unders.
